Mini Olympics

We had an awesome time at our Mini Olympics event this morning. The children all competed in a number of challenges including tug of war, gum boot throwing and relay races. The winning team was Tonga. Well done to everyone who took part.

Happy Father's Day

I hope all of the Room 6 dads enjoyed a lovely Father's Day on Sunday.

Cross Country

I am so proud of all the Year 2 runners. You did exactly what we asked of you and you all ran the whole way around. Well done to everyone who took part today.

Maths - position, direction and orientation

We have been learning about quarter and half turns and have been using left and right to show the direction of the turn. We had a go at directing each other around a simple maze and then a more difficult maze. It was tricky to imagine that we were in the maze and to work out which direction we had to turn. Using the bears helped us to see this. Finally we had a go at drawing a maze for someone else to try.
