We realised that the volume of a shape is the space that it takes up. We made as many different cuboids with a volume of 18 cubes as we could. They all looked very different, some were long and thin and others short and wide.
Next we looked at capacity. This is the space inside a shape - how much can fit in. We placed a variety of containers in order of their capacity and then tested by pouring water from one container to the other.
